In this new age, the approach of Christmas is marked out by two events - in the UK at least. The first screening of a certain department store’s festive advert. And the announcement of the celebrities going into the jungle to be tortured by Ant and Dec.
The recent Apple software release/update has changed the game for Augmented Reality accessibility. The barrier to entry for AR (previously) was the fact that users would need to download a specific application to use AR - similar to how QR codes used to work. But with the new Apple release on September 1, every iPhone user can automatically access AR features straight from their phone.
So it seems 140 characters is not enough. At least in some languages. Twitter wants to help us get our message out, by doubling the character limit to 280. While most of us welcome the opportunity to wax a little more lyrical on social, there were those who pointed out the obvious flaws... But seriously, it seems this week a select few Twitters users are able to trial the new 280 character limit, before it rolls out to all of us.

People would be able to ask for personal data, or information posted when they were children, to be deleted. But just because something doesn’t appear to be online any longer, doesn’t mean it is permanently deleted. Any action we take online has a fingerprint which can be traced. Yes, you can delete a Facebook post, then ask Facebook to delete all trace of it in the profile they have of you… but this information could already have been passed on to third parties, or shared by others. There will still be ways for marketers to track your data.
